  Central and Remote Printing

Each Print Spooler can monitor hundreds of different input queues and effectively manage up to 512 printers on a network. To optimize throughput, multiple formatting engines per print spooler can be initialized. The user can control print jobs and monitor, prioritize and direct print-streams as required.

Print from disparate hosts can be processed, formatted and delivered across the enterprise with our print spooler. The tools are designed to build intervention free document formatting and delivery of multiple PDL print-streams for the target printers. Native LPD / LPR is standard. Network queues and directories are automatically polled by the Spooler, based on user settings. A mechanism has been provided to enhance standard application print streams as each job is received. The user can define specific pre-processing scripts per job to enable advanced print features. Spooler performs any page based, dynamic conditional processing defined in the development system.

Spooler can also, simultaneously, create documents in PDF format. Add on modules are available to deliver automated fax and email output.

  • Print Destinations: User controlled print Job Prioritization, Holding and Re-direction

  • Print Pooling: Users can now group printers together and allow the Spooler to assign jobs according to demand, across the pool.

  • Banners: The banners can be pulled from a tray with color paper to identify the start of each job. Jobs can be offset. If LPR Control files are being used in job processing, the host name, user name, class, job name and input file name can be captured for banner pages or job ticketing.

  • Print Job Accounting: The spooling system fully supports job accounting and job ticketing The name of the account that will be charged for the printing costs associated with the job. A history of when a job was run, job origination, the printer used and the number of pages processed is stored. Reports on the status of jobs, jobs completed within time ranges and the total number of pages printed in a period can be exported in XML format for web viewing.
